Kathi Pelton jkpelton@sbcglobal.net Though the natural skies may be gray and the news around the world may be appear like dark thunder clouds— for those in Christ, your path is filled with sunlight! “The path of the righteous is like the morning sun, shining ever brighter till the full light of day.” Proverbs 4:18 It is far too easy to lose sight of the true “path of the righteous” when the path of the wicked is creating chaos and devastation throughout world around us. But, for the righteous— the sun is still shining and getting brighter with each passing day. There is always good news in Heaven’s headlines! “But our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ…” Philippians 3:20 Be sure to begin each day getting God’s good report. If you do this you will receive the warmth and glow of the morning sun (Son) that becomes even brighter as you move through your day. Even the burdens that you carry can be brought into the light of His glorious love and faithfulness, where they become a light load as he lifts the heaviness from your heart. The life and path of the righteous is filled with light and beauty. If you are having a hard time finding the morning sun and feel stuck in the dark night of the soul— then step from the place where your soul cannot find light into the Spirit where your soul begins to shout, “Here comes the sun!” It is there that you will find light, healing, hope, renewal and the warmth of his love. Like a young bride moving toward her wedding day with longing, excitement and preparation— so are we! We are a bride awaiting the day that we stand face to face before our Bridegroom, Yeshua. We are longing for that day with excitement and preparation. The path to that day is lit with the morning sun— getting brighter until we come to the “full light of day— his face!” Let us pray for those in Christ who are facing trials of great earthly darkness— that they will open their eyes today and behold the morning sun — Jesus, their Morning Star. Pray that even as they are surrounded by chaos and grief, that they will find light shining upon their path that fills them with wisdom and hope. Pray that they shine like lamp stands amid darkness. May people see them coming and exclaim, “Here comes the sun!” We are called to be the bearers of light because we live in the light of his great love that never wanes or dims. Look— the morning sun has come. May your path be lit with his blazing light like the morning sun.
