The past few weeks I’ve been hearing many prophetic words of encouragement, but I’ve also been hearing words of warning and impending challenges. We’re living in a time where everything could change in one day. One time when Jesus was teaching on the Mount of Olives, four of His apostles Peter, James, John and Andrew asked Him privately: “What will be the signs of the end times?” Jesus warned them that many will come in His name and deceive many. He was teaching them to be discerning.
He went on to say: “You will hear of wars, and rumors of wars and not to be troubled because these things must happen first. Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, earthquakes, famines and other troubles, and these are the beginnings of sorrows. Then He went on to say that the gospel must first be preached to all the nations. He told them not to worry about what they will say but the Holy Spirit will give them the words to speak.
When I read this I was wondering why it was these four apostles who were asking questions about the end times. I did some research and found that Andrew and Peter were brothers, and James and John were brothers known as “The Sons of Thunder”. I believe that Jesus gave them this name because it was James and John who asked Jesus if they could call down fire from heaven to destroy a Samaritan village that refused to welcome Jesus. (Luke 9:51-56)
All four of them had a fiery zeal for the Lord and a passion to bring people into the kingdom of God. They were fearless and ready for a challenge. Just as Jesus promised His apostles that the Holy Spirit would give them the words to speak when faced with challenges, He is saying the same to you today. He is seeking courageous and fearless individuals to be His bold witnesses in these turbulent times.
The Lord is raising up a generation of believers who will become His voice. He is looking for those who will reverberate His voice, reflect His glory, and rekindle the fire across the land. In our own nation, a battle is unfolding between good and evil, and the gospel must first be preached to all nations, and then the end will come. He who has ears to hear, let him hear what the Spirit is saying.
The Lord is raising up “Sons of Thunder.” They speak with voices of victory, and voices of authority. He is calling many of you to be His voice in this hour. He is calling people from all generations from the youth to the elderly to release His word to a world in turmoil. He’s calling the youth to carry His word into the schools from the elementary schools to the collage campuses.
Word to the youth: Don't be conformed to the ways of those with ungodly character, but share your testimony of everything that He has done in your life. He is calling those in the marketplace to be His messengers and those of you in the fivefold ministry to speak forth His word with boldness and without compromise. His word will bring a transformation to the dying churches and release a move of God in their midst.
As you release the words that He gives you to speak, they will become “rhema” in the ears of those who hear. Allow Him to bring a demonstration of His power to your churches. It’s time to see the miracles, signs and wonders in these end times. He is calling every believer to share the good news. Do not resist those who are despised and rejected. He is calling the housewives as well as the entrepreneurs. Release His word to those in your sphere of influence.
Release words of warning as well as words of encouragement. Release words of conviction as well as words of deliverance. Release words of repentance to a lost and dying world. Be the voice that He has created you to be. Don't allow the lost to slip away. Never retreat when confronting the voices of darkness, because they cannot overtake the light that is inside of you. Don't allow those with religious doctrines to intimidate you, but speak the truth in love.
Release His words of justice to an unjust world. Release words of righteousness to an unrighteous world. Release words of repentance to this sinful world. Release words of comfort and tell them that there is a comforter, who is The Holy Spirit and is willing to set them free. Release words of truth to a nation that is in fear and confusion. Release words of healing to the valleys of dry bones and speak forth life to a spiritually disabled world.
Pastors, open your churches to His prophetic messages. Don’t restrict the flow of the Holy Ghost or hinder His anointing any longer. Don't allow inferiority to stop you, and do not fear their faces or be intimidated by the arrogant words of the unjust. Never allow anything or anyone to stop you from speaking forth His word and never be ashamed of the name of Jesus. As you minister His word, always deliver it in love and He will release and set people free.
He is calling forth believers to be His voice in this season, bringing a profound spiritual awakening. As you open your mouth and speak, rivers of living water will flow from your innermost being. Do not allow these rivers to become stagnant. Do not allow them to dry up, but go forth and trumpet Jesus word to the nations. He desires to release His glory in an unprecedented way in this season with signs and wonders following. Sons of Thunder rise up!
Jeremiah 1:4-8 Then the Word of the Lord came to me saying, "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; before you were born I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations". Then said I: "Ah Lord God" Behold I can not speak, for I am a youth." But the Lord said to me: "Do not say I am a youth, for you shall go to all to whom I send you, and whatever I command you, you shall speak. Do not be afraid of their faces. For I am with you to deliver you says the Lord.
Luke 12:11-12 "Now when they bring you to the synagogues and magistrates and authorities, do not worry about how or what you should answer, or what you should say. For the Holy Spirit will teach you in that very hour what you ought to say.
1 Peter 4:11 If anyone speaks, let him speak as the oracles of God. If anyone ministers, let him do it as with the ability which God supplies, that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belong the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.
